This is the story of José Padillo Delgado’s vision and his commitment to preserving the tradition, landscape, and wine culture of Montilla-Moriles, a business venture filled with excitement and risk, achievements and challenges, but, above all, passion for his roots and the prosperity of his land.
Today, the second and third generations continue to write this story. Heirs to a legacy that is both a privilege and a responsibility; the privilege of dedicating ourselves to what we are passionate about and the responsibility of continuing to provide the world with unique wines of exceptional quality that express the identity of our land.
After decades of commitment, we are as proud to preserve the essence and quality of century-old brands like Cobos, Montulia, and Pompeyo, as we are to have responded to new consumer trends, innovating on tradition with reds like Valpina, young wines like Naíz, and wines from other great appellations and prestigious wine-growing regions.
Unique wines of exceptional quality that express the identity of our land.
José Padillo began his winemaking adventure by cultivating his vineyards and producing his own wine in Montilla, Moriles.
Despite the difficult times the sector was going through, or perhaps precisely because of them, he decided to contribute to the recovery of an activity that is an essential part of his region’s identity.
With the creation of Navisa Industrial Vinícola Española, S.A., which integrates his Montebello winery with the acquired assets of Bodegas Cobos, Velasco Chacón, and Montulia, José Padillo not only ensures the continuity of emblematic brands, but also consolidates the sustainable future of a project that contributes decisively to the economic and social development of the entire community.

Bodegas Montebello acquired the facilities of Carmen Flores S.A. in the Sierra de Montilla.
He no longer produced only the harvest from his own vineyards, but also carried out harvest campaigns, purchasing grapes from many other growers, both in the Sierra region and in the so-called Ruedos region. He bottles and markets his first own brand: “Fino Montebello.”

Commercial expansion to other D.O.s.
Navisa expands its catalog by incorporating wines from other national and international D.O.s to meet the growing demand of its sales network. Brands such as Imary, Puente Viejo, Próximus, and Ánima Rosa are launched.
115 years after its first brand was launched and 34 years since its founding, at NAVISA we continue to produce wines, brandies, and liqueurs with the same passion that José Padillo brought to recovering all the brands that today make up the Navisa family of products.
Over nearly forty years, NAVISA has excelled in producing high-quality wines, receiving prestigious awards such as:
